Processing Change

Recently I did a session on change as a superpower, of how the changes we go through in life give us perspective and deeper dimensions. Harnessing the power of change requires processing. For me, writing is a way of processing life changes- both my own and those of others.

All of my books are exercises in processing change:

  • Acculturation

  • Trauma and love

  • Cancer

Now I am working on a novel that spans decades and continents. I am processing the life experiences of people who have touched my own life and transforming their stories into the lives of my fictional characters.

The question for to day is - How do you process the loss of those close to you when there is no closure? How do you continue to live and grow and gain strength?
