Stories are Like Barnacles
Stories are power. Stories are teachers. Stories are art. Stories are like barnacles. They attach to you and grow, adding texture to life. Writers collect stories, recognize the beauty in the unusual, and use them as a springboard for creativity. I am working on a novel right now that spans the 1940s to the 1960s and takes the reader from the outer banks of North Carolina to northern Minnesota, and to Korea. The sequel will take it from there. I draw from my own experiences, my barnacles, and those of some of the amazing people who have influenced my life. It is a novel, so I have taken a lot of creative liberty. I will post updates from time to time. Stay tuned.
